Hey guys! Here’s a map of the booth I’ll be at for SDCC. I’ll have the prints pictured above plus one of Hellboy, SPAM VOL 2, LOVELY, and originals for sale!!! PLease come by and say hi if you’ve got a moment!
I only have 100 prints in all so hopefully that’ll last me the entire show.
The new BH6 trailer is out! It looks great. Actually kind of liking seeing this with fresh eyes like the rest of the world, and its come a LONGGGG way.
Can’t wait for the final film and I’ll be posting work from BH6 after its release. I worked mainly on sets and a few paintings, for about a year and a half.
I’ve had people insist that I used 3d an photos, despite my assertion that I haven’t. You can see the thread here http://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/2ag3ku/this_is_a_painting_iron_man_by_ryan_lang/ But this isn’t for them. This is for people that like to see the process of an illustration. I tried to break it down, but if there are any questions, please ask. I have no problem with artists using photos or 3d in their digital work, so when I say I didn’t use photos or 3d for this image, it was that I wanted to see what I could accomplish on my own (with a couple of filters at the end). And if after this process post people still refuse to believe that I didn’t use photos or 3d….. I will take that as a compliment.
Ryan laying down the law. Paint or gtfo.
Fanart Thursday! Top is inspired by the Batgirl redesign helmed by Cameron Stewart, Babs Tarr, and Brenden Fletcher. Bottom is a ninja turtles piece for Nucleus this weekend, prints are available through them.
Thanks for looking!
Since I’ve been playing Wildstar so much here lately, I thought I’d celebrate with a little concept art dump!! Some of the many random things I drew during my time at Carbine. Also I’m sure Andy Cotnam, Mindy Lee, or Johnson Truong probably had a hand in the concepting of more than a few of these. What a super talented team I had!
STAHP. CORY. STAHHHPP.
(just kidding never stop)
I finally got to see a final version of Lovely yesterday! I’m pretty excited about how it came out. Here are some paintings I did just for the book.
I love the story of the Monkey King, I grew up with it, so these paintings are my interpretations.
You can buy LOVELY online at Amazon, or you can pick up a copy form me at SDCC!
Sailormoon Sketch from yesterday!
So, I found out last week that I will be exhibiting with my good friend Rad Sechrist! I’m hopefully going to debut SPAM Vol. 2 early and in time for Comic Con, but it is going to cost way more than I expected, so I’m going to be doing commissions just to help a bit.
I’m open to doing ink, or digital commissions, but I do want to limit it to 10 -15 slots.
Digital Single char, limited background like above - 150$ (50 per extra character)
Traditional Ink and screen tone (real zip tone used) and limited background - 100$ single character, 50$ per extra.
Let me know if any of you guys are interested! Payment is going to be through paypal or payment AT SDCC. ‘
I’ve never done any commissions like this before, but email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll work stuff out!
A collection fo sketches going to LOVELY backers.
